Ye Olde Mustard Pot Fire Damage 09/08/2018 7

I am very sad to inform our customers that the pub’s kitchen was badly affected by a fire in the early hours of Thursday 9th of August. This is devastating news as you can imagine, but we are going to open for drinks only in the bar. It would be nice during this time to see our valued customers help the pub keep going in what are going to be difficult times until we get back up running for food.

I am very sorry to hear about this sad news, I hope that no one was injured, and if that is the case then at least it was not even worse news.
I live in Oldham, near Manchester, and often visit Rother Valley Country Park in Sheffield, for running and cycling and have recently called into Ye Old Mustard Pot for a well deserved meal. I have not been disappointed, the food has been of the highest standard and the service excellent.
I hope that you will be up and running again soon.

    All the best

Thanks Rick, I am.sure Dave will appreciate your comment. The pub is currently empty and awaiting new owners to start making chips!

      Hello Neil
I am the webmaster of the pub’s site and can answer your questions.

The pub is owned by Ei Publican Partnerships, formerly Enterprise Inns. They have recently had a couple of open days, showing prospective lessees around the pub. The link to the advert for the lease is here

I live just across the road and there were several vans in the car park yesterday with workmen doing some interior work.

I am about to publish a book where Ye Olde Mustard Pot is recommended. Can you let me know if it is likely to reopen or will I have to remove it from the book?

Thanks for your post, I have replied to your email address directly.

If anyone else is reading this then the answer at the moment is no, I haven’t heard anything from anyone in the village regarding it’s reopening. EIP did have an open day months ago for prospective tenants but nothing came of that.
